Borraco River

Along the Salento coast road towards Maruggio, about three kilometers west of the Tower of S. Pietro in Bevagna, there is another coastal tower called Borraco because it is close to a perennial watercourse called the Borraco river. The tower has the shape of a truncated pyramid with a quadrangular base with three machicolations on each side. The Borraco river is fed by numerous small springs that form two branches converging into a single course. The vegetation along the river is similar to that of the Chidro River.
