MASSERIA CUTURI 1881

Vedi tutti foto
In the kingdom of the Primitive

A little corner of paradise in Salento. Cuturi producer of a great, proud Italian wine. In 1881 a landowner from Manduria, Don Tommaso Schiavoni-Tafuri, married a Countess Sabini from Altamura. Don Tommaso planted the Primitivo cuttings brought as a dowry by his wife to Cuturi, the company he had taken over and the fruits were beyond all expectations. Primitivo di Manduria proved to be more alcoholic and full-bodied than its other Apulian counterparts and had great success in France as a blending wine when a few years later phylloxera destroyed the Languedoc-Roussillon vineyards. Today in the reborn Cuturi they no longer produce blended wines, but a great, proud Italian wine destined for the most demanding tables. Since here - thanks to Don Tommaso and his wife - the Primitivo di Manduria was born, we wanted to call Don Tumà this wine which represents the highest range of our production. A wine that is both profound and drinkable, mysterious and colloquial, suitable for the most demanding combinations, but ready to enhance even two fried eggs.
